Intrigue and Artistry – 2023 Thesis Exhibition

Every year, the Visual Arts Department at Marlborough celebrates its advanced-level coursework students with a culminating exhibition in Seaver Gallery. This year, the exhibition features the collective vision of 11 student artists, reflecting their broad range of passions, mediums, themes, and identities. The artwork on view ranges from sculpture to collage to mixed-media installation, videography, works on paper, and more. “The breadth of the work is what makes the show so dynamic,” says Chelsea Dean, Visual Arts Department Head. “Most of the students are crossing over between disciplines and including a hybrid of media within their body of work. It adds a level of intrigue and artistry unlike anything we’ve seen from students before.”

The 2023 Thesis Exhibition will be on view through April 14. The participating artists are:
– Daphne C.Y. ’23
– Sophie G. ’23
– Katie H. ’23
– Noah J. ’23
– Samantha N. ’23
– Clarissa R. ’23
– Yvette R. ’23
– Athena S. ’23
– Zoe S. ’23
– Stella V. ’23
– Sabine W. ’23

The Visual Arts Department at Marlborough is designed to enable students to form an appreciation for the creative process, develop the personal commitment needed to complete a piece of work, and encourage individual discovery and self-confidence in a variety of media.
