The Class of 2024’s Mascot
The Class of 2024 chooses Pascal from Disney’s Tangled as their mascot.
Every year, our community comes together to celebrate a cherished tradition – the Senior class selecting their mascot. This fun representation is meant to embody all of the wonderful qualities of each graduating class. On October 3, the Class of 2024 proudly unveiled their choice: Pascal from Disney’s Tangled.
From the first weeks of school, the Seniors used their Class Meetings to present mascot pitches, evaluate how well each proposed character matched their class’ personality, and ultimately, vote on the final choice. This year’s competition was fierce, with many excellent options presented by members of the Senior class. To demonstrate this deliberation process, the Class of 2024 produced a short film featuring Class President Eloise P. ’24 “speed dating” various mascot characters. Some did not resonate with this year’s Seniors, while others simply felt like an imperfect fit.. Once “Pascal” (embodied by Naomi B. ’24 in a Pascal onesie) and Eloise started chatting, it became evident that Pascal had all the right qualities to align with those of the Class of 2024.
As the video concluded to roaring applause and laughter from students and staculty gathered in Caswell Hall, Eloise took the podium to explain why Pascal was the perfect choice for the Class of 2024. She said, “Like my classmates, Pascal is a loyal friend who constantly uplifts those around him, prioritizing collaboration over competition.” Pascal’s admirable adaptability, symbolized by his being a chameleon, closely mirrored our Senior Class’s spirit. Eloise also pointed out Pascal’s unwavering support for those he cares about, drawing a parallel to his loyalty to Rapunzel in the movie. Eloise closed her remarks by sharing two more similarities between the Class of 2024 and their mascot: “Just like Pascal, our class is small but mighty, confident, and has a spirited personality.”
Congratulations to the Class of 2024 on the first of many special moments and traditions to celebrate your Senior year!
