Ringing in their Senior Year

While Marlborough's students approved an official school ring design in 1925 - a design still used by some today - it would be another eight years before the Ring Ceremony tradition officially began.

Originally given to seniors only, in the spring of 1972 that tradition changed and the Class of 1973 was the first to receive their rings as juniors.

Marking the passage into their final school year at Marlborough, members of the Junior Class are now typically presented their school rings by seniors in a formal evening ceremony each spring. The Class of 2021, unique in so many ways, had to wait until this February to celebrate theirs, but were overjoyed to be able to make this milestone together in person. They lit their own candles and walked a path to Booth Field where they listened to their classmates and Dr. Sands speak as the sun set in the distance.
