Why did you want to become Assembly Coordinator?

I wanted to be known among the student body as someone they could come to for support, guidance, or just a shoulder to lean on. I also wanted to be part of student government and contribute my ideas to Marlborough’s fun events and traditions. Finally, I wanted a place to channel my love for speaking in front of an audience.

What is your favorite aspect of the role?

I like the responses I get from students. Since I have become “known” throughout the school, I am often greeted by students from other grades. I love connecting with people, especially girls who I have never met before. I now know students from 7-11th grade and that is an incredible feeling.

What advice would you give to future Assembly Coordinators?

Be yourself! Adding humor, being friendly, and having a great attitude can make all the difference. Marlborough is welcoming and people will reciprocate the energy you give out as a coordinator.

What lessons have you learned from this role that you will take with you to college and beyond?

I have not only learned how to be a better public speaker, but I have also gained a tremendous amount of experience in leadership. The position has given me confidence, and this is something I will take with me for the rest of my life.
