Podcasting in a Pandemic

Podcasting in a Pandemic

This series explores how students, teachers, parents, and alums are dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic, and how COVID-19 connects to other social, economic, and political issues facing our school, city, country and world.

Podcasting in a Pandemic

In March of this year, as we set up temporary desks and learning stations at home and made it through the first weeks of distance learning, Dr. Cathy Atwell, Dean of Student Research and Leonetti/O'Connell Honors Research in Humanities and Social Sciences Program Head, began to think about the different ways the Marlborough community had been coping and creatively tackling the challenges of learning while physically separated from each other.

With the goal of exploring and documenting this pivotal moment in education, Dr. Atwell teamed up with Erick Huezo, Media Studio Specialist, to start a podcast titled Marlborough: Learning Together at a Distance, Conversations about our Coronavirus experience.

With several episodes already published, Dr. Atwell has talked with students, teachers, and alumnae about topics including alumnae returning home, families bubbling together, the forward-facing role of student leadership, community creating and supporting an equitable learning environment, and student activism.
