Laying the Foundation for Future Success

On March 15, Marlborough’s Pool Deck was buzzing with conversation as alumnae shared their wisdom with the Class of 2025. The annual Share the Wisdom event, specially organized by three members of Alumnae Leadership Board, provides Juniors with the opportunity to connect with accomplished Marlborough alumnae from diverse fields, giving students invaluable insights into various career paths and industries. Through a format that marries networking and speed dating, Juniors not only honed their informational interviewing skills but also began forging meaningful bonds within our robust alumnae network.

This year, 14 distinguished alumnae, representing a spectrum of professions including entrepreneurship, medicine, marketing, law, and more, served as panelists. Each shared her experiences and insights, enriching students’ understanding of careers paths and the professional landscape beyond their time at Marlborough. With class years ranging from 1988 to 2011, these alumnae offered a range of perspectives on navigating their career trajectories while discovering their personal identities. Many shared that it was a meandering path that led them to where they are now, rather than a straight line from Marlborough to their current profession. They emphasized that each step of their journey offered moments of growth and learning.

Reflecting on the event’s significance, Marlborough’s Associate Director of Alumnae Engagement Natalie Makous Cuadra ’09 emphasized, “Share the Wisdom serves as a vital bridge between our alumnae and current students. This event fosters mentorship and provides professional guidance crucial for their future endeavors. It embodies the spirit of community and lifelong learning that I have always felt defines Marlborough.”

The enthusiasm and engagement of the students were palpable, as noted by 11th Grade Dean Anna Robinson, who remarked, “Witnessing the students interact with our alumnae panelists was so joyful. This event not only equips them with practical networking skills but also instills a sense of confidence and ambition as they envision their own paths beyond Marlborough.”

Share the Wisdom not only imparts practical skills but also cultivates a sense of empowerment and belonging within the Marlborough community. As Juniors forge connections and glean insights from successful alumnae, they carry this wisdom with them on their own journeys of professional growth and self-discovery, laying the foundation for their future successes.
