JV Wins JV/Novice Online Debate Championship

Congratulations to the JV and Novice debate team performance at the first-ever JV/Novice online Championship that took place utilizing Zoom conference software over the weekend. This replaced the season-ending regional and national championships the team would normally attend.

The team had a dominating performance. All eleven Marlborough debaters won at least half of her debates. In the JV division, the team as a whole won 75% of their debates. And Macy L. '22 earned an undefeated record, becoming the Tournament Champion!

The Novice squad won half of their debates, despite the fact that two out of three of the Marlborough Novice debaters are 7th grades competing primarily against 9th graders.

"I was very proud of everyone's focus in navigating the new challenges of online debate tournaments and still having such a killer performance," said debate coach Adam Torson.
