An Adventurous Year: Yearbook Dedication and Senior Serenade

On May 15, 2026, Marlborough’s Sundial co-editors-in-chief, Maddie M. ’26 and Madeline M. ’26 revealed the theme for the 2026 Marlborough Yearbook at the annual Yearbook Dedication and Senior Serenade All-School Meeting (ASM). Students and staculty gathered in Caswell Hall for the much-anticipated reveal.

“This year we asked ourselves one question,” Maddie shared. “What makes our school's story worth telling? The answer was everywhere we looked. From the last-minute studying before a test, the standing ovations after ASM performances, the league final wins, the friendships formed in classrooms and on the field—every single day brings new challenges, new plot twists, new victories, and moments that shape who we are becoming. And that's why this year's yearbook theme is ‘The Adventures Of…’ because every student, every teacher, and every memory is a part of an unforgettable story. When you read the ‘dot dot dot’ on the cover, you can complete the phrase ‘The Adventures Of…’ with any of the above.”

Madeline then described the design of the book, which she revealed was a comic book style featuring bold graphics and bright colors: “It reflects the idea that heroism doesn’t always mean saving the world,” she added. “Sometimes it means showing up for your friends, finding confidence in yourself, trying something new, or getting back up after a long and difficult day.”

She noted how each community member is a character in the story of the 2025-2026 school year. “We can't wait for you to open up this yearbook and see the adventure we created together,” she said.

The ASM then shifted to a video created by the Class of 2026 to reveal the staculty member they chose to dedicate their yearbook to. This year, Dean of the Class of 2026 and Science Instructor Max Edelstein was selected by the Seniors. In the video dedication, dozens of Seniors described the reasons they felt Ms. Edelstein was the clear choice—she’s kind, warm, caring, and offers her unwavering support and commitment to their class.

“Since joining us in 10th Grade, Ms. Edelstein has been the most dedicated and caring leader for each and every one of us to look up to,” Madeline concluded. “She was truly born to be a teacher and a dean, and we can see her natural gift for connecting with students every day when she walks through the halls, plans the most amazing class meetings, or leads a dissection in 9th Grade biology.”

As the community celebrated Ms. Edelstein’s dedication to the Class of 2026 and their choice to honor her, the deep connection between their Dean—of three years!—and the Senior class was clear. Before saying goodbye to this special group of students, the entire community was able to share in the celebration through the Senior Serenade. Each grade and the staculty prepared a song to sing to the Class of 2026 on their last day of classes, representing a send-off for the beloved Seniors and a sentimental “see you later” from the community. The ASM was a fitting and heartfelt tribute to a special Senior class and an exciting school year, leaving every student and staculty member ready to open their yearbooks and relive the adventures of the past year.
