As another school year approaches, Marlborough’s campus is filled with excitement as the community welcomes new faculty and staff (affectionately known as “staculty”) and celebrates expanded roles for some of our returning staculty. 

Welcoming New Staculty
In mid-August, the newest staculty members spent a week participating in New Employee Orientation, building bonds with one another and getting an in-depth introduction to Marlborough. With diverse backgrounds and a shared commitment to the School, the incoming staculty are ready to champion our students, spark new ideas, and strengthen our community with their expertise and breadth of experience.

Growth Within Our Community
As our returning staculty step into new and expanded roles, Marlborough celebrates both their professional achievements and the School’s commitment to cultivating excellence. Their proven talent, passion, and readiness for new challenges inspire excitement for the future of the School and the impact they will make in their new roles.

• Erika Alarcon, Coordinator of Admissions Outreach and Diversity Initiatives
  • Ms. Alarcon has been a member of Marlborough’s Admissions team since 2021 and carries her knowledge into a new role supporting both the Admissions and Equity, Community, and Belonging Offices. Her work will focus on welcoming, supporting, and celebrating the diverse voices that make the community so uniquely Marlborough.
• Meghan Bernstein ’11, Director of Marketing and Communications
  • Ms. Bernstein has been a member of the Marlborough staculty since 2018 and served as the Interim Director of Marketing and Communications this past school year. She will continue leading the Communications Office and sharing the incredible stories of Marlborough in a permanent capacity.
• Leslie Blanchette, Mathematics Department Head
  • Ms. Blanchette has been a member of the Mathematics Department as an instructor since 2023. In addition to teaching math, she will now also focus on leading the Mathematics Department as the Department Head, supporting her colleagues with her deep understanding of the department and her commitment to student learning.
• Melorie Cruz, Administrative Manager & Executive Assistant to the Head of School
  • Ms. Cruz is a longstanding member of the Marlborough staculty, beginning her tenure in 2006 and serving as the Executive Assistant to the Head of School since 2018. While continuing to support the Head of School, Ms. Cruz will also serve as a strategic partner in creating a cohesive and efficient administrative support structure by working closely with administrators and support staff.
• Jerry Favorito, Dean of the Class of 2032
  • Mx. Favorito has been a member of the Science Department since 2023. While continuing his role as a Science Instructor, Mx. Favorito will be the Dean for the Class of 2032. As Class Dean, he will lead the Class of 2032 through their first year at Marlborough in 7th Grade and see them through their Middle School experience, fostering community and supporting our newest Violets.
• Marguerite Ku, Standardized Testing and College Counseling Coordinator
  • Ms. Ku has been a member of the staculty since 2023, supporting both the Admissions and College Counseling Offices. With eight years of specialized expertise in AP test administration prior to Marlborough, she brings deep knowledge to her new role supporting the School’s standardized testing administration across divisions and continuing to support the College Counseling team.
• Regina Rosi Mitchell, Associate Head of School for Academics and Student Affairs & Head of Upper School
  • Ms. Rosi Mitchell has been a dedicated member of the Marlborough staculty since 2007 when she started as a Spanish Instructor. She subsequently became a Class Dean, the Dean of Student Life, and most recently Head of Upper School. With her care for and commitment to the community, she will now take on the role of Associate Head of School for Academics and Student Affairs. In this expanded role, she will maintain all the responsibilities of Head of Upper School and also help ensure all students—regardless of division—have the support and academic programming they need on their path to excellence and that our incredible faculty are able to do their best work.
• Lisette Valladares, Dean of Academics
  • Ms. Valladares has been a Marlborough faculty member since 2018, teaching in the Mathematics Department and most recently serving as Mathematics Department Head. As she steps into the role of Dean of Academics, she brings a thoughtful approach to academic leadership and a vision for fostering a rigorous, engaging, and forward-looking educational experience for all students.

The vibrant energy and fresh perspectives of our new staculty and the seasoned leadership of our returning community members create a momentum for continued excellence and innovation at Marlborough. We look forward to seeing the incredible impact of these educators as we embark on another year together and welcome our students back to campus.
