We are thrilled to welcome the newest members of Marlborough's staculty to our community. Scroll below to learn a little more about each of our new hires! 
 

Cori Ayandele, Marlborough Mathematics InstructorCori Ayandele, Mathematics Instructor

Cori joins Marlborough as a National Board-Certified Mathematics instructor with over 11 years teaching experience in both middle and high school. With time spent in the public and independent school sectors, Cori also served as an instructional coach, mentor teacher, and Mathematics Department Chair. She earned concurrent undergraduate degrees from Santa Clara University and received her Master's Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from UCLA.

Tyra Blair, Marlborough Science InstructorTyra Blair, Science Instructor

As a new Angelino, Tyra is excited to join Marlborough as the new ESII teacher. Hailing from Nashville, TN, Tyra worked as a professional chemist in multiple fields, manufacturing quality control to environmental science, soon realizing her passion was in Education. She has a B.S. in Chemistry from Western Kentucky University and an M.S. in Professional Chemistry from Tennessee State University.

Returning to her alma mater, Natalie Makous Cuadra '09 is excited to be back on campus as the Associate Director of Alumnae Relations. Natalie has spent the past eight years between New York and Los Angeles working for start-ups at varying stages in marketing and development roles. She received her B.A. in Psychology at the University of San Francisco and her Masters of Social Entrepreneurship at the Hult International Business School.

Cynthia Dominguez, Marlborough Education SpecialistCynthia Dominguez, Education Specialist

Coming to Marlborough with over 20 years experience in education in independent and public schools, Cindy will be the newest member of the Education and Counseling Services team as our Education Specialist. Cindy has a Master's Degree in Educational Therapy and specializes in executive function coaching, reading, and writing.

Felonie Doss, Marlborough Science InstructorFelonie Doss, Science Instructor

Felonie is thrilled to begin working at Marlborough as our new Science Instructor. She began her career in education in 2019 teaching high school biology while simultaneously pursing her graduate degree in Urban Education at Loyola Marymount University which she received in 2021. She completed her undergraduate degree at USC where she majored in Human Biology on the Human Evolutionary Science track.

Sarah Foster, Marlborough Performing Arts InstructorSarah Foster, Performing Arts Instructor

Sarah is the newest addition to the Performing Arts Department as our Theatre Instructor. With experience in the independent school world in the states, Sarah previously lived in London for 15 years where she was a University faculty member at the Foundation for International Education specializing in teaching contemporary drama, Shakespeare, and experiential learning for college students studying abroad. She holds an MA in Text and Performance Studies from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and King's College, London.

Alex Mohr, Marlborough History InstructorAlex Mohr, History Instructor

Alex joins Marlborough with a passion in social justice and modern world issues. As the newest member of the History Department, Alex previously taught at a public charter school in Watts, Los Angeles for four years. There she created and developed two ninth grade curriculums for Human Geography and Latin American Studies. She holds a B.A. in History from California State University, Fresno, and received her teaching credential at California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Alex Munoz, Marlborough English InstructorAshley Muñoz, English Instructor

Joining our English Department is Ashley Muñoz who is excited to continue her teaching journey at Marlborough. While pursuing her graduate studies at Loyola Marymount University, Ashley served as a teaching fellow and taught Rhetorical Arts to first-year students. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Arizona and a Master's Degree in English Language and Literature from Loyola Marymount University.

Arnold Ortez, Marlborough Maintenance TechnicianArnold Ortez, Maintenance Technician

Arnold has been a member of the Marlborough community for seven years as a sub-contractor. Joining the Facilities team as the Maintenance Technician, Arnold is excited to have the opportunity to continue to grow and learn at a community that he loves.

Jessica Romero, Marlborough Assistant Athletic DirectorJessica Romero, Assistant Athletic Director

Jessica joins the Marlborough community as the Assistant Athletic Director. As a native Angelino and former athlete who competed in track meets, organized volleyball, and organized basketball both at the high school and collegiate level, Jess took on the role of Assistant Coach for the Cypress College Women's Basketball Team. Dedicated to the mental health and wellbeing of others, she is also an avid Mental Performance Coach. She has helped many youth-to-pro athletes, performers, parents and students feel and be their very best selves by helping them seek their purpose in life. Jess completed her B.S. Degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology at California State University, Fullerton and a Master of Science degree in Sports and Performance Psychology at California Baptist University.

Richard Vega, Marlborough Journalism and Media InstructorRichard Vega, Journalism and Media Instructor

Richard joins the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) team at Marlborough as the Journalism and Media Instructor. Richard previously worked at The New York Times website for eight years as a News Editor, covering 9/11, presidential elections and breaking news. He then joined Yahoo News for seven years and oversaw the entire news operation as the Editorial Director. In addition, he works as a Journalism Instructor at UCLA Extension, where he teaches students reporting and interviewing techniques and provides guidance when they apply for graduate schools, internships and full-time openings. He graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Alison Williams, Marlborough Health and Wellness InstructorAlison Williams, Health and Wellness Instructor

Alison is thrilled to be joining Marlborough as a Health and Wellness Instructor. As an educator-activist, her career has been dedicated to social and community healing and empowerment. Her decade-long teaching experience began at Planned Parenthood Los Angeles as a health educator, where she taught comprehensive sexuality education to middle and high school students and supported teachers in creating safe and inclusive classrooms. Most recently, she worked at the Nueva School leading their middle and upper school JEDI programming and teaching social-emotional learning. Earning a degree from Arizona State University, her studies were concentrated in social work and restorative justice practices.
