Marlborough is honored to be recognized as a Founding Member of the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools (ICGS). Founded in 1991, ICGS is a leading advocate for girls’ schools around the world. In 2021, the Coalition repositioned itself from the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools to its current name to more accurately represent its over 340 member schools spanning across six continents. As one of the Coalition’s first members, Marlborough helped ICGS forge its path to elevate women’s leadership worldwide by educating and empowering students to be ethical, globally minded changemakers.
With cutting-edge research surrounding girls’ education, professional development for our educators, advocacy, and networking opportunities, Marlborough is proud to be a member of the Coalition. Being able to lean on one another and have access to the resources provided by ICGS is incredibly important, and there is no shortage of support and insight from local, national, and international girls’ school professionals. ICGS reflects, “At no other time [in history] has there been among girls and young women such a deep sense of shared potential, purpose, and power. Girls’ schools provide unique benefits that catalyze important progress, and there is incredible strength that can be derived from our connections with one another.”
Since 1889, Marlborough has been dedicated to empowering girls and young women. It is important to our institution to not only support our students and alumnae but to also support girls and young women across the globe.
