Marlborough Ensemble Theater presents "We Twelve"
Marlborough Ensemble Theater presents
adapted by Gleason Bauer from the screenplay of "Twelve Angry Men" by Reginald Rose and the play, "Twelve Angry Women" by Sherman L. Sergel
"We Twelve" tells the story of twelve jurors locked in a hot room at the tale end of a muggy New York summer. Charged with the civic duty of deciding whether a boy will be sentenced to die for his alleged crimes, the jurors reckon with the heat, their own personal biases, the impossibility of the task, and a changing culture that was fast rushing them toward an unrecognizable future. Peeking back into this August afternoon in 1962, we may recognize how far we’ve come, be we are also asked to face the reality of how much further we have to go.
