Fall 2025 Athletics Recap

The Marlborough Mustangs celebrated another outstanding fall athletics season marked by meaningful personal accomplishments, exciting team wins, and record-breaking performances. With 197 student-athletes across Middle and Upper School competing in cross country, golf, tennis, swim, and volleyball, the Mustangs demonstrated dedication, a growth mindset, and a competitive spirit. 

Cross Country Highlights:
Varsity Cross Country completed a competitive season, placing top three as a squad in several invitationals and finishing strong at the Mission League Finals where 90% of Marlborough runners set personal course records. Saoirse F. ’28 advanced to the CIF-SS Preliminary qualifier race and set a career personal record, despite the pouring rain!

Middle School Cross Country welcomed many first-time runners who showed up with consistency and determination. Their commitment paid off with the team improving their times by at least two full minutes by the end of the season. 

Golf Highlights:
Varsity Golf had a dominant season, claiming their second consecutive Angelus League title and finishing in the top 20 golf programs nationwide. Seniors Mia B. ’26, Sydney K. ’26, and Olivia O. ’26 capped off an incredible six years with the golf program, while Zoey K. ’27 earned the Angelus League MVP award and represented the Mustangs at the CIF-SS State Championships.

JV Golf celebrated a rewarding season marked by effort, teamwork, and memorable moments that laid a strong foundation for future successes out on the course.

7th and 8th Grade Swim Highlights:
The 7/8 Swim team welcomed enthusiastic swimmers for a great season. They closed out their season with a 3rd Place finish at the Junior High Delphic League Finals. 

Tennis Highlights:
Varsity Tennis had an impressive season, finishing 2nd in the Mission League and making it to the second round of CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs. Mia B. ’26, Audrey N. ’26, Brooke C. ’27, Kira C. ’28, Allysa K. ’28, and Nima W. ’29 all advanced to the Mission League Tournament, with Kira continuing to the CIF-SS Individual Tournament.

JV Tennis competed hard this season, finishing with a record of 7-8. The team showed up day after day with resilience, bolstered by the bond of their team as they continued to strengthen their skills.

7/8 Tennis celebrated a great season of fun, learning, and competition. The Purple Team advanced to the Junior High Delphic League (JHDL) Semifinals and the White Team received the JHDL Sportsmanship Award.

Volleyball Highlights:
Varsity Volleyball had a stellar season, reaching the CIF-SS Division 4 Quarterfinals—the program’s deepest playoff run in many years. Tatawan V. ’26 and Orna L. ’29 earned 1st Team All-League honors and Delaney K. ’27 was named to the 2nd Team. Together, the team finished a competitive season with a record of 19-16.

JV Volleyball finished with a winning record of 8-7, showing up to each match with grit and determination.

Freshman/Sophomore Volleyball competed hard all season, finishing with a final record of 7-8.

7/8 Volleyball enjoyed a season of team building and skill development. The Purple Team finished 2-5 and the White Team was awarded the Junior High Delphic League Sportsmanship Award.
