Alex Ulin '16 Wins Gold Medal at Head of the Charles

Marlborough alumnae make their mark in college crew, while student rowers finish strong here at home.

Impressed with their freshman rowers, University of Pennsylvania created a Women's Cox'd Four (W4+) boat to row in the club races at the Head of the Charles 2016. Coaches positioned Alex Ulin '16 in the stroke seat to set the boat's pace.

Optimistic the boat would beat last year's 17th place finish, the team was sweetly surprised when Alex's W4+ finished first, a full 4 seconds ahead of the 2nd place team.

Congratulations, Alex!

In other crew news, Emily Kim '16 cox'd Tufts University's Men's Cox'd Four at the Head of the Charles, leading the team to a 11th place finish. Lily L. '18 and Johanna F. '17 took 9th place in the Youth Women's 8+ rowing with the Marina Aquatics Center team. And Bridget O. '18 took the bronze medal in Women's Junior Singles with California Yacht Club Junior Rowing!
