The Unbreakable Bond of Marlborough Alumnae

Marlborough enthusiastically celebrates Alumnae Weekend each year—an energetic, joy-filled reunion weekend when Violets can connect with classmates and across generations. Alumnae from graduation years ending in 1s and 6s were warmly welcomed back to campus for Alumnae Weekend on April 24 and 25, 2026. From their 5th to 75th reunion, and many in between, Marlborough alumnae returned to 250 South Rossmore to reminisce, reconnect, and honor the years they spent there.

The weekend began with Alumnae Morning at Marlborough where graduates toured campus hosted by current students and popped into classrooms to see learning in action. Walking past the Marlborough clock—that some noted they remember being installed—time ticked backwards and the walk down memory lane began. That same evening, alumnae came together for Cocktails on Campus to unwind and reunite before the festivities of Alumnae Day on Saturday.

On Saturday, campus was filled with Violets excited to celebrate their class and learn more about the Marlborough of today.

“As I look around today, I see the living proof of that indelible, unbreakable bond of the Marlborough community,” Head of School Jennifer Ciccarelli shared in her welcome remarks. “It gives me such joy and a deep sense of pride to know that our current students—my daughter, Perry, being one of them—will, one day, look back the way all of you have and experience the same enduring bond that you cherish!”

That bond was clear as warm embraces and belly laughs were shared among classmates and across campus throughout the day. In addition to touring campus, exploring the largest archive display to date, or getting the newest Marlborough swag at the student store, there was time for connection and reflection over lunch while hearing from a panel that included All-School President Rainey R. ’26, 20Y Award Recipient Yu-Shing Ni ’16, Woman of the Year Julie Saliba Clauer ’92, and Ms. Ciccarelli.

“I never expected that in six years, I would have found a place where I feel unequivocally comfortable, yet simultaneously pushed beyond my comfort zone,” Rainey shared with the alumnae. “But I have a feeling you all know exactly what I mean. Because that's the thing about Marlborough—it never really leaves you, and you never really leave it.”

The shared experience of being a Marlborough graduate is truly something that connects the generations of Violets who have walked the halls, and that living connection extends nearly a century long. One of the most special guests of the weekend was an alumna from the Class of 1944 who recently marked her 99th birthday. From alumnae from the 40s to alums who are now Marlborough parents, to current faculty who once studied in these classrooms, each and every alumna is a shining example of what it means to be a Marlborough graduate.

“Thank you for paving the way, for showing us what a Marlborough woman looks like out in the world, and for coming back to remind us of what we're working toward,” Rainey added.
