Sports Medicine
The goal of the Marlborough Sports Medicine program is to assist our student athletes in having a healthy and safe athletic experience. We are dedicated to providing excellent prevention of acute and chronic athletic related injuries and illnesses, emergency management and comprehensive rehabilitation.
The Sports Medicine program is staffed with two Certified Athletic Trainers (ATs) that are present at practices and home games as well as providing seasonal educational sessions with each team pertaining to common injuries and illnesses involved in their specific sport. Our ATs are allied health care providers who work in conjunction with sports medicine physicians from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Dr. Tracy Zaslow of Cedars-Sinai.
Additionally, every Marlborough student-athlete takes part in baseline concussion testing through ImPACT Applications, Inc., which evaluates memory, cognition and reaction time. Baseline data is used to assist in the recovery process after a concussion.
