Where Musicians Grow Together

At Marlborough, instrumental music is more than practice and performance—it’s about connection, creativity, and growth. Our program invites students to deepen their musical skills while experiencing the joy of playing in ensemble settings. Whether students are seasoned performers or eager to expand their musical journey, Marlborough provides a space where collaboration, discipline, and artistry come to life through sound.

Instrumental Ensemble

Marlborough’s Instrumental Ensemble is a course-based program where students play in small, thoughtfully formed groups based on instrumentation and experience. Open to a wide range of instrumentalists—including pianists who often don’t have access to traditional band or orchestra programs—the ensemble focuses on collaborative music-making and skill development. Weekly rehearsals emphasize interpretation, tone, balance, performance readiness, and sight-reading, while students also build accountability through individual practice. The year culminates in a spring recital that highlights each ensemble’s growth and artistry.
