The application fee is $150. We do offer fee waivers if this presents a financial hardship, contact admissions for the waiver.

For the 2024-2025 school year, Marlborough’s tuition is $52,850. There is also a New Student fee of $3,000.

Yes. Additional expenses include books, class trips, uniforms, transportation (bus service if warranted), and extracurricular fees among others.

Yes. Tuition can be paid in one payment, two payments, or nine payments. 

Marlborough has a very generous financial aid program. Awards range from 10% to 100% of School costs and it is based on financial need.

The process takes place concurrently, though there are separate deadlines and supporting documentation for each aspect of the process. The deadline for the financial aid application and documentation is January 10, 2025. Additionally, you must submit your 2024 tax returns by April 15, 2025. 

If you believe you may need assistance in covering the cost of tuition at any point during your daughter’s attendance at Marlborough, we recommend applying for financial aid. Once a student is enrolled at Marlborough who is not receiving financial aid (because they never initially applied during the application process), assistance will only be available to a student should your family experience a significant change in financial circumstances.

All expenses that are part of a Marlborough School experience are covered by financial aid. This includes books, technology, outdoor education fees, the college tour, transportation, and some fees associated with extracurricular activities.

The number of applications we receive from year to year varies, but it is important to note that it is a competitive applicant pool with limited spaces per grade level. 

We do not admit students mid-year in non-entry grades (Grades 7 and 9). We do admit girls into non-entry grades, but spaces are extremely limited for Grades 8, 10, and 11. We do not admit seniors.

Marlborough does not issue the I-20 form for foreign student study and only enrolls students who intend to complete Marlborough through the 12th grade. Students must live in Los Angeles, CA with at least one of their parents or a legal guardian while attending Marlborough. We do not offer a program in English as a Second Language (ESL), so all students must be completely fluent in English for reading, speaking, and composition.

Aligned with our mission and long-standing history, Marlborough maintains its identity as a girls' school, prioritizing the unique needs, shared experiences, and voices of young women. Marlborough will consider for admission any applicant who identifies as female.

We have a rotating, block schedule that begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. each day. The day is broken into four class blocks as well as community time.

There are many adults who watch over the girls. In addition to her teachers, each student is placed in a grade-level advisory group, has a grade-level Dean, and a teaching team that works with the entire class. There is a Middle School (Grades 7-9) and Upper School (Grades 10-12) Director and a Director of Studies who oversee the curricular program, and a Dean of Student Life who oversees the extracurricular program.

Marlborough students are invited to a New Family Picnic in the spring before they enroll.  New students also participate in “Violets 101” which introduces the girls to each other and to the School.  

Our Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) houses our library, but it is so much more! The CEI serves as a space for students to connect, collaborate, and create.

Middle School students wear gray skirts, Upper School students wear black skirts.  Students may also wear black or gray pants or shorts. White, black, or purple polos; white, black, or gray sweaters, jackets, or sweatshirts; and closed-toed shoes are also required to be in uniform.
