To apply, please click here to create a Ravenna Hub account. Ravenna is the online system Marlborough uses to collect your application materials. Please note that the application deadline is January 8, 2020.

In addition to the initial application, a complete Marlborough application includes transcripts, test scores, and recommendations. The deadline for these materials is January 17, 2020. Further details can be found below.

Families applying to more than one school may find the Standard Application Online (SAO) from The Enrollment Management Association more convenient. Click here to see which schools accept the SAO and to begin your application. Families complete either the Ravenna application or the SAO, but not both.

Should you have any questions, please feel welcome to contact us by email at admissions@marlborough.org or call us at (323) 964-8450.

Group Activity Session

Marlborough's Group Activity Sessions are opportunities for applicants to experience conversation and collaborative problem-solving in an all-girl setting. There's no preparation required, except to bring your best self. Group Activity Sessions are led by Marlborough teachers and while it is an experience that is assessed, our expectation is "success" across the board for all applicants.

While students participate in the Group Activity Session, applicant parents receive a more in-depth look at the Marlborough experience. First through a student-led tour and then in informal small group conversations with school administration and teachers.

Marlborough also offers many optional opportunities to visit campus, please click here to learn more.

Transcripts

Grades give the Admissions Committee insight into a student's academic achievements. Please submit the Transcript Release Form to your school and request that they send us the applicant's first semester/trimester transcripts as well as grades for the prior year. In addition, ask your school to include any standardized test results. This information is due no later than January 17, 2020.

Click here to download the Transcript Release Form.

Marlborough prefers transcripts and test scores be submitted electronically via email. All documents must be sent by an administrator at the applicant’s current or former school from a school email address for confirmation purposes. Documents submitted from a personal email account will not be accepted. All documents should be emailed to admissions@marlborough.org.

If schools are unable to submit electronic copies, transcripts can be sent by US post to:

Marlborough School Admissions Office
250 South Rossmore Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90004

*Additional paper copies are not needed for schools submitting documents electronically.

Recommendations

All recommendation forms, required and optional, must be received by the Marlborough School Admissions Office on or before Friday, January 17, 2020. Marlborough School requires the following recommendation forms from the student’s current administrator and teachers (of the 2019-2020 academic year):

Administrative Recommendation
Math Teacher Recommendation

English Teacher Recommendation

In addition, applicants may submit the following optional recommendation forms:

Athletic Recommendation
Supplemental/Personal Recommendation

Prior to delegating the forms, please inform the person that they will be receiving an email from Ravenna with the link to fill out the form online. Once you have entered the person's information, they will be emailed a secure link to complete and submit the form online. The Administrative, Math, and English forms are accepted by all CSSAD member schools and can be printed and emailed to additional schools once completed by the teacher (or uploaded directly to other schools also using Ravenna).

Testing

For some, taking the ISEE/SSAT is a familiar experience with standardized testing. For others, it brings up anxious feeling about the unknown or prior experience.

Here's what we want you to know - we treat the results of the ISEE as a piece of data - one piece - that contributes to our admissions decision. If your daughter takes the test more than once, we hope you will send us all of the results as more data helps us make an even more informed admissions decision.

Marlborough accepts results from August 2019 - January 17, 2020.

To register for the ISEE, visit www.iseetest.org. Please remember to list Marlborough School as a score recipient - our school code is 051710.

In order to register for the SSAT exam, visit www.ssat.org. Please remember to list Marlborough School as a score recipient.
