Medical Plan:

Retirement Plan

Marlborough offers both a traditional and Roth 403b Defined Contribution Plan. Employees who work at least 1,000 hours per year are eligible to participate in the Plan and contribute up to the IRS maximum limits. Full-time employees (2,080 hours) will have their contribution matched by the school at up to 7% of their annual salary. The School match increases to 8% after 10 years of service.

We believe that educators are lifelong learners and we are committed to providing tailored, diverse, and supportive professional growth opportunities for our faculty and staff so they may continue to challenge themselves in order to help mold the futures of our society. Marlborough offers our employees access to a variety of workshops, webinars, institutes, and programs that foster their goals and ambitions. We partner with local and national organizations to ensure our faculty and staff are the first to be included in robust and innovative opportunities. Many of our faculty facilitate and lead professional development workshops for these organizations including, the California Teacher Development Collaborative (CATDC), the International Coalition for Girls Schools (ICGS), the People of Color Conference (PoCC), and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS)–speaking to the scope of support for lifelong learning at Marlborough.

Faculty are also encouraged to participate in educational enrichment in areas outside one's academic discipline, allowing them to experience being in the role of a student. Through Marlborough’s generous Senior Class Fund, teachers have embraced classes in areas such as learning Japanese, YA novel writing, and bread making, to name a few.

Additionally, through the Anne Marie Jenks Fund, one teacher each year is awarded $5000 to pursue a unique opportunity for enrichment and growth outside of school responsibilities.

Staff are also provided a generous professional growth and development budget annually so they may further expand on their personal or professional goals. Staff may receive funds to offset their continuing education costs (up to $600), and both faculty and staff receive tuition reimbursement costs up to $5,250 per year for employees who have worked at the school for a minimum of 12 months.

In limited cases, a Forgivable Loan may be offered to employees who are pursuing an advanced degree that is tied specifically to the area of discipline or subject matter in which they teach. The loan can be used for approved educational expenses, and with conditions, as long as they are employed with Marlborough, the loan - or portions of the loan - is forgiven.

Wellness Initiatives

In addition to our EAP program, our Mighty Mustangs Wellness Program provides support and resources that address our employees wellness needs by targeting physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. Monthly themes provide the basis of programming, and include webinars and onsite experiences such as on-site dental clinics, annual benefits fairs, vaccinations, on-site massages and more.

Technology Support

When you work at Marlborough, your technological needs are seen and supported. We have a 1-1 laptop program, providing a laptop of your choice. If you prefer to work with an iPad, one may given to you. Classrooms are equipped with updated smartboards and Apple TVs to ensure that your time is spent giving meaningful lessons versus worrying about a technological failure. Additionally, Marlborough supports the need to stay up-to-date with technology by offering $0 interest tech reimbursement loans for personal technology needs that are intended for private and at-home use. These loans are repaid via payroll deduction.

A Deep Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

Recruiting and supporting diverse faculty who reflect the rich history and culture of our city and who are committed to the entire student experience. Currently, 43% of our employees identify as people of color.
Staculty Identity-Based Groups: Faculty and staff have the option of joining our Staculty Identity-Based Groups which are closed to those who share the identity of the group. These groups promote a sense of belonging, mentorship, professional development, and voice empowerment.
Attendance at the NAIS People of Color Conference - Staculty have the opportunity to attend the NAIS People of Color Conference which provides “a space for leadership and professional development for people of color and allies of all backgrounds.”
